Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document my learning in teaching, coaching, language and culture. During the school year, I have the honor of working with the best of two worlds. Part of my day, I work alongside with English language learners in the classroom part of my day. The other part of my day, I get to share it with wonderful colleagues as we sit down together, providing instructional coaching, brainstorming possibilities together or just listening.

An amazing company's philosophical guide

I have always loved reading about people, their work, what moves them, what inspires them. It teaches me to pay attention to my surroundings which is a wonderful skill as an educator.

I read the book In Color by Tory Burch and one thing that stayed with me from that book are the principles that drives her company and one that she shares with all her employees.

"We show up with honesty and kindness.

We work with passion and humility.

We act with integrity and compassion

We lead with excellence and humor"

Isn't this just amazing? These are the grounds onto which they stand. The work they do is guided by these principles. Of course, I couldn't help but ask myself, "Is this how I am showing up in my classroom? Is this how my students see me? Is this how the teachers I work with see me?" It paused me to do some serious reflections. And for that I'm grateful.
